Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Debt Freedom collects, how it is used, and your rights as a user. We've written it to be direct and readable — not buried in legal language.
🔒 This policy applies specifically to the Debt Freedom appInformation We Collect
Debt Freedom collects only what is necessary to provide its core functionality. We do not require account creation to use the app. Here is exactly what we collect:
| Data Type | What It Includes | Why We Collect It |
|---|---|---|
| Debt Data | Debt names, balances, interest rates, minimum payments you enter | To generate your payoff plan and track progress |
| Payment Records | Payment amounts and dates you log manually | To update your balance and show real progress |
| Budget Settings | Monthly payment budget you set | To calculate your payoff timeline |
| App Preferences | Notification settings, payoff method selection | To personalise your experience |
| Crash & Error Logs | Anonymous technical error reports | To identify and fix bugs |
Important: All financial data you enter — debt amounts, balances, payment history — is stored locally on your device by default. We do not transmit or store this data on our servers unless you explicitly enable cloud backup (if available).
How We Use Your Data
We use your data for one purpose: making the app work well for you. Specifically:
- To generate and update your personalized debt payoff plan
- To track your payment history and show progress over time
- To calculate your estimated payoff date as balances change
- To send payment reminders and milestone notifications (only if you enable them)
- To identify and fix technical errors in the app
- To improve app performance based on anonymous usage patterns
We do not use your data to build advertising profiles, sell to third parties, or make decisions about your creditworthiness. Your financial situation is your business.
What We Never Do
We believe you should know exactly what will never happen with your data:
- We do not sell your personal or financial data to any third party
- We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers
- We do not use your financial data to make credit or lending decisions
- We do not use your data to send you unsolicited marketing from third parties
- We do not access your bank accounts, credit cards, or financial institutions
- We do not collect data beyond what is listed in Section 1
Data Storage & Security
Local storage: All debt and payment data you enter is stored locally on your device. It is not transmitted to our servers unless cloud backup is explicitly enabled by you.
Security measures: We implement the following protections:
- Data stored locally is protected by your device's built-in encryption
- Any data transmitted to our servers (e.g. crash logs) is sent over HTTPS
- We do not store financial data on our servers in identifiable form
- Access to any backend systems is restricted to authorised personnel only
Data retention: Your data remains on your device until you delete the app or manually clear your data within Settings. Anonymous crash logs are retained for up to 90 days.
No method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we apply strong safeguards, we cannot guarantee absolute security. We will notify you promptly if a breach affects your data.
Third-Party Services
Debt Freedom may use a limited set of third-party services to support app functionality. Each is bound by their own privacy policies:
| Service | Purpose | Data Shared |
|---|---|---|
| Google Play Services | App distribution and updates (Android) | Standard app interaction data per Google's policy |
| Crash Reporting (e.g. Firebase Crashlytics) | Anonymous error reporting | Device type, OS version, anonymised error logs — no financial data |
We do not integrate with any advertising networks, social media trackers, or data analytics platforms that would receive your financial information.
Children's Privacy
Debt Freedom is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@vektorcorestudio.com and we will delete it promptly.
